The Head of Safeguarding, Mr Mark Pellicano, is currently delivering seminars on the new Safeguarding Policy to various religious and lay organisations in Malta.



The Safeguarding Office delivered training to various professionals hosted by the Malta Association for the Counselling Profession
An award ceremony was organised by the Faculty of Theology, University of Malta, celebrating the students who completed the Certificate in Safeguarding and a short course on the Toolkit for Youth Ministry.
The Head of Safeguarding, Mr Mark Pellicano, addressed those present through a keynote speech.

As from 5th November 2024, a new Safeguarding policy within the Church in Malta and Gozo has come into effect. The policy sets higher standards for Church entities and places the welfare of alleged victims at the centre of the Safeguarding Commission’s work in Malta and Gozo. – Archdiocese of Malta




As part of our ongoing commitment to social causes, this October we extended our support to the Migrants Commission and their incredible initiative at the Balzan Welcoming Centre!





Mr Mark Pellicano accompanied HE Charles J Scicluna, Archbishop of Malta, to a meeting with the leadership of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors to discuss safeguarding in the Church in Malta, including the policy to be introduced in the coming months.
The Safeguarding Commission is committed to preventing abuse and fostering safe environments for individuals and communities within the Church. This October, we stand with the Pink October initiatives to raise breast cancer awareness, reinforcing our dedication to holistic well-being across all areas of life
Fr Linston and Fr Ankith are Catholic priests belonging to the Congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in Kerala, India. Fr Linston holds a diploma in philosophy and two bachelor’s degrees; one in theology and another in multimedia, while Fr Ankith holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in psychology and another in philosophy, along with a master’s degree in theology. Both priests are currently pursuing a Licentiate in Interdisciplinary Studies on Human Dignity and Care with a focus on Safeguarding at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. As part of their academic training, they are currently doing an internship at the Safeguarding Commission Office in Malta.
