Mark has extensive experience in the social field and holds a warrant in both Social Work and Counselling. His most recent role was as the Senior Manager of Children's Services at Fondazzjoni Sebħ, a Church organization that provides residential care for children unable to live with their families. He offers counselling services at Richmond Foundation and lectures at the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta. Mark was previously employed as Correctional Assistant Manager within the Maltese Prisons and was in the council of various NGO’s such as Men Against Violence and the Malta Association for the Counselling Profession. Mark currently serves as the Head of the Safeguarding Commission.

Carly is a warranted social worker specialising in safeguarding after obtaining a MSc in Safeguarding in an International Context (UCLan, Lancashire). She started her social work practice within the Child Protection Directorate and then joined the Safeguarding Commission in 2021 as a Safeguarding Officer. In July 2023, she took up the role of Senior Safeguarding Officer within the Investigations and Assessment team of the Safeguarding Office. Carly was always involved in activism; at university level she occupied the role of Social Policy Officer within the student organisation TDM2000 Malta. She currently forms part of the Maltese Association of Social Workers Executive holding the role of Secretary General.

Kimberly recently graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Malta and has begun her professional journey as a Junior Safeguarding Officer. Her dedication to community impact began in sixth form through involvement in student organizations. During university, she remained engaged in student activism, actively participating in productions led by the student council. Kimberly's academic studies were enriched during her elective practicum unit, where she invested significant time in fieldwork, gaining exposure to diverse psychosocial practices. This included shadowing health psychologists at Mater Dei Hospital, actively participating in the Mount Carmel Hospital Befriending Programme and contributing to the Peer Education Health Promotion Programme "Students for Healthy Living."

Peter Marc Farrugia is a warranted Gestalt psychotherapist with expertise in trauma-informed care and psycho-spiritual therapy. With advanced studies in Divinity from the University of Cambridge and Conflict Analysis from George Mason University, he brings a compassionate, holistic approach to victim care and advocacy. Peter’s roles have included work with the Counselling & Social Work Unit, Caritas Malta, and the Malta Dementia Society's Psychotherapy Team, alongside his teaching as a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta since 2017. As part of the Safeguarding Commission, he focuses on supporting survivors of abuse and providing psychosocial resources for victims and their families. His work emphasizes community-based therapeutic methods that foster healing, resilience, and a supportive environment for recovery.
